That's not a limitation — it's the entire point. The 4×4 requirement is what keeps this beach pristine, wild, and genuinely private.
Our estates sit 2.5 miles past the last paved road, on 11 private oceanfront acres where the wild Colonial Spanish Mustangs roam freely. Arriving here is not like arriving at a hotel. It's an experience before you've even checked in.

Every guest group is different. Here's exactly how we handle each situation — so you know before you book that getting here is straightforward.
If your group has AWD or 4WD vehicles with at least 7.5 inches of ground clearance, you're set. The drive in is part of the experience — 2.5 miles of beach with the Atlantic on your left and the dunes on your right.
- 1.Drive to the 4×4 beach entry at the end of Corolla's paved road
- 2.Stop at our free Air Down Station — deflate tires to 18–20 PSI
- 3.Drive 2.5 miles along the beach to your estate
- 4.Re-inflate tires at the air station on your way out
This is the most common situation. Some guests drive themselves in with 4WD — others park at a satellite lot and join via shuttle or by riding with 4WD group members.

Air Down Your Tires First
This is the single most important step for beach driving. Properly deflated tires spread your vehicle's weight across a larger surface area — preventing you from getting stuck in soft sand. We provide a free Air Down Station right at the beach entry.
Required: Tire pressure must be 18–20 PSI before driving on the beach. Driving at normal road pressure (30–35 PSI) on soft sand is the most common reason guests get stuck. Do not skip this step.

Yes — all vehicles entering the beach must be AWD or 4WD with at least 7.5 inches of ground clearance. 2WD vehicles, including most sedans, crossovers, and front-wheel-drive SUVs, are not permitted and will get stuck. If your group doesn't have qualifying vehicles, our Expedition rental or shuttle service will take care of you.
First — deflating your tires to 18–20 PSI before entering is the best prevention. If you do get stuck, call us at 304-902-6504 immediately. We can coordinate local beach recovery services. Do not spin your wheels aggressively, as this digs you in deeper. Stay with your vehicle and wait for help.
A minimum of 7.5 inches of ground clearance is required. Most dedicated 4WD trucks and SUVs comfortably exceed this. Crossover SUVs with AWD often fall short — check your vehicle's spec sheet or call us if you're unsure about a specific model.

Yes, trailers are permitted on the beach, but only if towed by a qualifying 4WD vehicle with appropriate towing capacity. Call us in advance to discuss your specific trailer setup. We can advise on what works best given the beach conditions and tow route.
We'll always work with you. Call 304-902-6504 as soon as you know there's a delay — our team can coordinate recovery, adjust arrival timing, and make sure you're welcomed properly once you arrive. Getting stuck doesn't ruin your stay. We've handled it before and we'll handle it again.
No — state law prohibits approaching, touching, or feeding the wild Corolla mustangs. A 50-foot distance must be maintained at all times. They are wild animals and can be unpredictable. That said, they are truly extraordinary to observe from a distance — and sightings from the estate decks are frequent, especially at dawn and dusk.
