Fresh-caught seafood. Waterfront patios. Craft beer walls. The full Corolla dining scene — from sunrise bagels to late-night raw bars.
Dining in Corolla is one of the true pleasures of an Outer Banks stay. Locally owned restaurants dominate the scene — no chains, no franchises, just chefs who know the waters and the farmers. Tuna, mahi-mahi, blue crabs, soft-shell crab (in early summer), oysters, scallops and shrimp pulled from local waters are the stars of every menu. But Corolla isn't only seafood: you'll find Italian kitchens making pasta from scratch, hardwood-grilled steaks, craft beer walls, and breakfast spots worth getting out of bed early for.
Most of Corolla's restaurants cluster around two main shopping areas — TimBuck II Shopping Village on Sunset Blvd and Corolla Light Town Center on Austin Street — plus a handful of standout spots scattered through Corolla Village. All are within easy driving distance of our LuxStay estates on the 4×4 beach.
Hand-picked from locals and returning guests — the restaurants worth making the trip for.
The only live hardwood grill on the northern Outer Banks. Owner Mike Dianna grew up in Corolla and built his restaurant around USDA Prime beef, local seafood, and ingredients he knows personally. The hardwood-grilled steaks are exceptional — as is the brunch with house-cured lox, crabcake sandwiches, and buttermilk biscuits. Gluten-free, dairy-free and allergy-accommodating.
Creative coastal cuisine on a waterfront deck with views of the Currituck Sound at sunset. Upside's kitchen leans into the freshest local seafood and seasonal ingredients, paired with craft cocktails at their innovative inside-out bar — you can sit inside in comfort or right on the waterfront deck. Open year-round, which puts it among the most dependable tables in the area.
Corolla's most laid-back, tropical-vibes destination. Bernie's specialises in island cuisine with fresh tuna poke bowls, fish tacos, fish and chips, and coconut shrimp — all served with the casual charm of a true OBX beach spot.
